Hey guys! It's been quite a while since I posted a journal here. So here's a quick little thing to prove I'm still around~

I hope that everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! (Whether you celebrate it or not.) I can't help but feel like I'm late to the whole "festive" feeling this year... Ah well.

I'm finishing a few last-minute preparations for this year's Aniwave, which I'm excited to attend as a guest in the Artist's Alley. This will be my first year attending, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Alrighty.

I'm back from Librari-Con. It was absolutely nuts, but mostly fun. But definitely crazy. I'm not sure how much longer it's going to be able to be called a "mini-con," haha...
I got to bug some awesome people like ~TheIronClown and ~PreciousMiseries, which was lots of fun~

Thanks so much to everyone who came by and said hello; it was great to see some familiar faces and to meet new people as well! I look forward to seeing you again next year!

Hello~

I've been super quiet around here (again) but hopefully I'll be able to make up for that after Librari-Con is over. :3

I'm quite excited about it; I've been able to devote much more time toward preparation this year than last time around, and I've got lots of new things to offer at the table. (especially buttons!)
A couple of things will be making print debuts at the con before I post them online, so if anyone happens to be keeping an eye on my gallery, stay tuned until after Labor Day Weekend for updates!

And hey, if you happen to swing by Librari-Con's Artist Alley, feel free to come say hello!

I think that's about it for right now though... I've got a couple more things to get done by month's end, so I'm off to do those.

Librari-Con 2010

_{So I'm back from Librari-Con and slowly getting things back in order...

A couple of orders to mail out and such, and commissions to post.  Later on though, maybe after work or something.

Hooray for not having a repeat of Hurri-Con! /shotforbeinglame
I had a lot of fun, and I even conned convinced my buddies ~LustfulPeace and ~NepherimCrystal to tag along.    I didn't do quite as much pestering as I'd intended, so ~TheIronClown and ~Eldanis got off easy this time.  BUT WATCH YOUR BACKS, HAHA.

Definitely going to shoot for having a table again next year.

OH MY GOD THERE WAS THE MOST AWESOME PONYO COSPLAYER EVER AND IF ANYONE HAS PHOTOS YOU CAN LINK ME TO I'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER.
She was seriously the best Ponyo I've ever seen.  Very much in-character, too!  It was awesome.

I still have a few prints left over; if anyone is interested in one, just let me know, and I'll give you the details.

_{Wow, it's been a while.  Let's see...

Animazement 2010 has come and gone, and I had a great time hanging out with old friends and making a few new ones.   I didn't get to spend as much time loitering in the Artist's Alley as I wanted to, but I still got to pester ~TheIronClown and ~Eldanis, so it's all gravy.  Plus I kept running into ~NeoAtlantis and being bothersome.  Haha~

I'm hyper excited about getting a table at this year's Artist Alley at Librari-Con though!  If you'll be in the neighborhood, swing on by and I'll grin at you like a creepy thing.   I've really missed being a participant in their Alley, so I'm beyond happy to be able to go again.  I GET TO PESTER DANNY AND KEISHA SOME MORE YAY.

Pretty soon here I'm going to be giving my gallery an overhaul; I'm not sure if I'll move some deviations into storage or onto my secondary account or what as of yet.  Probably a little bit of both.  I'll have to see.

Anyway, I haven't updated in over a month, so I figured I ought to let those who care know that I'm alright.   I've had a few strange things tossed my way since the New Year life-wise, but hopefully it's nothing I can't handle.

I've thankfully been able to peel myself away from a lot of useless time-consuming activities, which is awesome.  Now I can do things I really want to do!
Damned Facebook and its shiny applications.  I am a slave to you no longer!

I hope to have some creature art ready to post sometime soon.  I also was given a beautiful, HUGE, detailed book on just about every bird known to mankind for Christmas; I'm hoping to do some studies of quite a few of them.

Especially Guira Cuckoos.  I am OBSESSED with Guira Cuckoos.  They're adorable and I wish I could have one as a shoulder-buddy.

But yes, I'm still around.   I'm determined to make good on becoming more active here.  Grr.
Right; I should head off for the night.  Early shift tomorrow.

It's been one hell of a year, hasn't it?  It kind of blitzed on by; I know I'm far from the only one to have had a year full of ups and downs--ups were WAY up, and downs, well.

But I digress.

I'm ready for the new year, and I'm ready for the fresh start it'll bring; I'm keeping my resolution from 2009 (which I kept!  I'm so proud of myself...) with a new one for 2010.  And since it's technically the first of January, I can go ahead and say what it is. :3  My resolution is to turn over a new leaf as far as my art is concerned, to push my limits and seek personal and artistic growth, to seek an artistic identity.

As such, this gallery will no longer be updated with a lot of the content that's been so prevalent throughout my work from when I first joined the site in 2005 up to this point.  What I mean by this is, quite simply: no more anime.  My gallery is positively saturated with it.  And though I'm still passionate about it, and very much enjoy it, I feel like I've started to lose my artistic "persona," and that it's being overshadowed by the stylization I've chosen to practice.

I originally thought of completely revamping my gallery for this change, including going through and mass-deleting older work, but have decided to keep it as-is.  It'll be undergoing heavy construction for a while, but everything currently up will stay where it is, for the most part.  Things may be shifting around quite a bit.  But so far as I can tell, nothing's getting deleted.  (Unless I stumble across something that melts my eyes.)

This doesn't mean I'll stop drawing my characters (and the occasional bit of fanart), not by any stretch of the imagination; those simply won't be submitted to this gallery anymore.  I'm going to have a secondary deviantART account purely for artwork of that nature.

/divulges GRAND MASTER PLAN~

So basically this journal was meant both as a personal declaration and reminder to myself of my resolution, and as a sort of courtesy or heads-up to those of you who might be watching me for things of that nature: I won't be posting such artwork to this account anymore.

I thank everyone for their continued support and kindness over the years.  I really appreciate it.  Looking back, I can see how far I've come from when I first started out on the site, and that gives me a good deal of confidence in my ability to improve in the coming years.  (because goodness knows I could use both the improvement and the confidence!  Haha)

Hopefully in 2010 I'll be far more active here on dA than I've been in 2009...
